Available shifts: 7a - 7p and 7p - 7a (all every-other weekend rotation).

Dover Behavioral Health System is a 104-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Dover, Delaware. We feature individual units for adolescents and adults and offer inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to adults and adolescents with a wide range of disorders, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Monitor patients closely and conduct observation rounds, prioritising patient safety as the top concern.
  • Participate in treatment planning by identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths.
  • Assist in the admission process, including vital sign assessment, safety searches, specimen collection, and patient orientation.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct group therapy programs for patients.
  • Participate in hospital codes as necessary for unit safety, partnering with the Charge Nurse to ensure successful shift operations and maintaining an engaging, therapeutic environment for high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field highly recommended.
  • One year of direct work experience in a behavioral health environment including leading groups, de-escalating behaviours, and managing multiple clinical diagnoses.
  • Experience in an inpatient setting.
