HRD / Associate Director of People, 6 mth FTC, to GBP87k pa + bens, hybrid, 3 days WFH, 2 days Bristol office Your new company This is a large public sector organisation – a not-for-profit social enterprise. Your new role This role involves working in partnership with stakeholders to ensure the organisation is well-led and high-performing, achieving its strategic and operational objectives. You will support the Chief People Officer in building people practices, lead the People/HR function, and establish a robust framework supported by reliable, client-focused systems and processes. You will oversee the EDI & Staff Engagement functions and embed good people management practices aligned with the organisation\’s values—being innovative, inclusive, and influential. You will coach managers to become confident, empowered leaders who engage and inspire their teams. Your focus will be on providing employees with regular development opportunities, ensuring a safe, effective, and caring work environment, and enabling staff to reach their full potential. You will promote regular, constructive two-way communication so employees feel informed, valued, and engaged with the organisation\’s objectives. What you\’ll need to succeed – Knowledge of human and organisational aspects of change, learning, and development. – Understanding of how organisational development can lead to positive outcomes. – Knowledge of management and leadership theories and best practices. – Skills to develop and utilize tools (process and behavioural) for working with teams and individuals. – Ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders in challenging environments—\’politically astute\’. – Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly at all levels. – Strong project management skills: planning, delivering on time, managing expectations, and reporting progress. – Ability to act as a role model and advocate for best people practices.
