About Graystone Gallery Graystone Gallery is a vibrant contemporary art space in the heart of Edinburgh’s Stockbridge district, showcasing a diverse range of works from emerging and established artists. With an ever-evolving exhibition program, we’re passionate about connecting art lovers with exceptional pieces. As we grow, we’re looking for a motivated and talented part-time Gallery Assistant to join our team and help us take things to the next level.What You’ll Do Engage and Sell:Connect with clients, provide exceptional customer service, and help close sales. Content Creation:Write captivating artist profiles and exhibition descriptions, and manage social media to boost our online presence. Event Support:Help coordinate and run gallery events, artist talks, and exhibitions throughout the year. Stock Management:Keep the stockroom organised and ensure all artworks are properly labelled and easily accessible. Gallery Operations:Assist with hanging exhibitions, updating price tags, and maintaining the gallery’s overall presentation. Client Relationships:Manage after-sales follow-ups and gather client feedback to ensure satisfaction.What We’re Looking For Art Background:Arts degree or equivalent visual literacy. A History of Art postgraduate degree is a bonus! Sales Skills:You know how to build relationships, close sales, and hit targets. Organisational Skills:You\’re detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Communication:Strong verbal and written skills for client interactions and social media. Tech-Savvy:Experience with gallery management software (preferably Artlogic) and social media platforms. Team Player:You\’re supportive, proactive, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
