Where will you be working? At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. You will be working within private networks, where we find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.
What will you be doing? You’ll handle installation, commissioning, first-line reactive maintenance and work at heights to support contracts in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The role will be based in Belfast, working across Northern Ireland. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and terminating RF feeders, DC power, fibre and copper cables
- Performing industry-standard testing on telecoms and antenna systems, such as RF sweeps and network/ethernet checks
- Installing and commissioning equipment across multiple technologies
- Wiring and connecting DC power to required standards
- Providing first-line support for mobile network, data-comms, switching and VOIP systems
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Creating RAMS
- Managing work areas or vehicles
- Completing site surveys for installations
- Participating in an on-call rota (1 in 6 weeks)
What you’ll bring? You’ll need a full UK driving licence and prior experience as a Telecoms Field Engineer, including use of RF and microwave equipment and working at heights up to 100 metres. You’ll bring strong analytical skills and logical thinking to support fault diagnosis and resolution. An interest in new equipment and emerging technology is essential, along with a willingness to learn and develop your expertise as systems and industry requirements evolve.
