Global X ETFs Europe is looking for an ETF Portfolio Administrator to join our highly motivated and dynamic team in London. This role offers the opportunity to take a key role in the portfolio administration function in Europe at a fast-growing asset manager. This is a hands-on role covering all aspects of day-to-day equity operations and fund accounting whilst working on system and process improvements to automate and optimize the portfolio administration function.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a range of fund operations tasks crucial to the day-to-day functioning of a rapidly growing ETF investment manager.
- Understanding the full trade life cycle from order generation, execution, confirmation and settlement for ETFs.
- Accurate trade capture and trade affirmation across global markets, using systems like Bloomberg AIM and Omgeo CTM.
- Experience of equity trade settlement across global T0, T+1 and T+2 markets, being able to identify high risk trades and markets and manage these accordingly.
- Co-ordinating multiple brokers and custodians to ensure unmatched trades and fails are minimized and trades settle in accordance with local market regulations.
- Ensuring FXs are captured and executed in a timely manner via standing instruction or third-party FX execution service providers, to ensure smooth settlement of trades.
- Calculate P&L Slippage on trade and FX executions or client directed orders.
- Experience of equity synthetic fund operations including but not limited to the capture of CFD trades for give-up and non-give-up markets, portfolio resets and collateral management for both Reg IM and VM.
- Collate, monitor and process corporate actions across a range of index providers ensuring internal records are in line with custody and administrator records.
- Full daily NAV reconciliation including portfolio positions, transactions, income, reclaims and cash to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
- Work with fund administrators, custodians, and across internal teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure internal book of record, Advent Geneva, is accurate and up to date.
- ETF onboarding β Managing all aspects from account opening at custody and admin, market openings, internal system set ups, working with wider teams and stakeholders to ensure new ETF products to strict deadlines.
- Review and complete multi account, multi jurisdiction tax documentation.
- Be a key point of contact for other departments, including portfolio management, product development, legal, and compliance, to ensure smooth operations and effective decision-making.
- Project manage key initiatives to create a low touch high service operating model, through identifying and implementing automation and STP.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5+ yearsβ experience in fund operations at an asset manager or service provider.
- Knowledge and experience using order management systems and portfolio management systems, and portfolio accounting systems, particularly Bloomberg AIM and Geneva.
- Experience with ETFs or other funds, and asset management products.
- Knowledge of fund accounting, including but not limited to deferred assets and liabilities that may impact fund net asset values.
- Understand the pricing method for exchange trade investments and derivatives, including common stocks, preferred securities, options and futures.
- Have practical and general knowledge of equity, CFD, FX and fixed income assets, as well as relevant corporate actions.
- High level of attention to detail and quality of work.
- Willingness to take on a broad range of responsibilities.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- VBA or Python coding expertise.
