The predicted salary is between 30000 - 50000 £ per year.
The salary will be 1.5 times the regular wage for Saturday shifts and double the regular wage for Sunday shifts! At Lactalis Canada, we are currently recruiting for a licensed Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our Maintenance Department in our manufacturing facility in Winchester, Ontario which produces butter, cheese, powder, and margarine. We welcome candidates with any level of experience, from recent graduates to seasoned professionals.
Primary Role
The Industrial electrician is responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of the plant’s electrical and control systems and processes. The Industrial electrician performs daily preventative maintenance on the plant’s equipment and facilities. In addition, they will make adjustments and repairs to production equipment, as the need arises, during the course of production and often in cooperation with equipment operators to assist with solving these issues.
Duties
- Provide maintenance services as assigned, throughout the plant.
- Provide maintenance services for new construction and repairs within the Plant according to safety, quality, and trade standards and guidelines.
- Resolve plant electrical, instrumentation, and controls issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide supervision feedback on information regarding jobs, including determining time required, material needs, labor requirements, and impact on uptime.
- Provide maintenance services on various shifts as assigned, be available for overtime and be part of an on-call rotation.
- Perform PM requirements for process controls and other related plant equipment.
- Perform other trades practices on work assignments within ability and skill level.
- Work in accordance with all E&I standards and electrical safety codes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Provincial or Inter-provincial Trade certification – Electrician (309A or 442A License) Instrumentation and control Technician (447 License)
- PLC maintenance troubleshooting and programming skills (Allen Bradley)
- Practical experience with VFDs, Servo controls, Pneumatics, and Power Distribution Systems.
- Sound Instrumentation knowledge
- 2 to 3 years of practical experience in the Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation field.
- Intermediate level of PLC and VFD maintenance troubleshooting skills, and basic programming skills (practical testing will be administered to all applicants to evaluate & validate these required skills)
- Possessing another Trade certificate (Millwright, welding, pipefitter, refrigeration) is an asset.
- Strong mechanical background is an asset.
- Strong personal Computer skills - working knowledge of basic Maintenance management software (SAP) and Microsoft applications.
- Capability to read, interpret and utilize blueprints and drawings.
Schedule
You will be working the day or night shift (6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6 am), alternating weekends, with a schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week.

Pay: $40.11 per hour
