Reporting to the EHS Manager, the successful EHS Advisor will promote good practice relating to EHS and coach individuals to improve overall health, safety and environmental practices within the Highways operations. Support the adoption of all relevant EHS legislation. This w ill involve travel to sites on the side of the motorway and major trunk roads, including overnight stays, so flexibility is required. Ideally candidates will be Midlands based. What you’ll do: Undertaking regular site inspections and audits across all areas of operational activities to monitor assurances to policies and procedures. Recording findings from inspection and monitoring through to close out Regular travel to our various sites is a core part of this role to ensure visible safety coaching Review health and safety documentation, SIPS, TBS and RAMS. Assisting to create documentation such as Work Instructions and Equipment Trial Documentation Support the adoption of all relevant EHS legislation, Customer and stakeholder EHS requirements (including Contractors and suppliers) Undertake Incident Investigations Work with the EHS Manager to ensure that working practices are safe and comply with legislation. Who you are: We are looking for committed and focused individuals who have previous experience in an EHS Advisor role or hands-on operational experts who want to pivot into a rewarding career in safety. We welcome applications from current Site Supervisors, Lead Engineers or Inspectors with a demonstrable interest in Health, Safety and Environmental assurance. Key Requirements: You will occasionally need to work evening shifts to conduct safety inspections, support night crews or oversee specialist out of hours activities. To possess an NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH General Certificate, or be willing to work towards this within the first 12 months of employment Be able to build a positive safety culture, while actively championing and building a positive, proactive health and safety culture Full UK Driving Licence What we offer: At Telent, we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
