Redbridge Council is seeking a Deputy Chief Executive to drive organisational change, digital innovation, and workforce development. This is a pivotal executive leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape the future of the Council and ensure it remains modern, inclusive, and customer-focused. About the Role Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will lead a broad portfolio including organisational development, workforce strategy, digital transformation, IT, data governance, and programme delivery. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will also deputise for the Chief Executive and play a central role in shaping the Council’s strategic direction. You will be accountable for: Leading organisational development and workforce strategies that support a skilled, motivated and inclusive workforce. Overseeing the Council’s digital and IT transformation programmes, ensuring services are modern, accessible and efficient. Driving the Council’s modernisation agenda and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Ensuring robust data governance, cyber security and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Leading the Programme Management Office to support delivery of major projects and transformation initiatives. Advising Members and working collaboratively across the Council to deliver corporate priorities. Representing the Council externally and building strong partnerships with stakeholders across London and beyond. About You We are looking for a strategic and inspirational leader with: A strong track record at a senior level in organisational development, digital transformation, or related services. Experience leading large-scale change and delivering improved outcomes in complex environments. Deep understanding of local government policy, workforce development, and digital innovation. Political awareness and the ability to work effectively with elected Members and stakeholders. A collaborative, inclusive leadership style and commitment to customer service and equality.
