Are you ready to be part of a team shaping the future of automotive innovation? We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Component Engineer – Air Supply to join our Chassis team at JLR. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of vehicle development, contributing to the design and delivery of cutting-edge air suspension systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and testing of key components such as air pipes, reservoirs, valve blocks, brackets, and NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) protection parts. You will use advanced CAE tools and techniques to create robust component geometry, ensuring seamless integration within the chassis system. Your work will directly impact vehicle performance, comfort, and refinement. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and suppliers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet technical, cost, and timing targets. From early concept through to production release, you will play a key role in ensuring our air supply systems are engineered to the highest standards.

WHAT TO EXPECT

As part of the team, you will be involved in a number of core activities that contribute to the success of the department, such as:

  • Lead the design and development of assigned air supply components and systems, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to drive engineering activities and ensure timely delivery against the commodity plan.
  • Manage engineering data and progress component releases using JLR’s internal systems and processes.
  • Support the delivery of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and documentation.
  • Develop component geometry that meets the requirements of all stakeholders, including manufacturing, attribute teams, and interfacing systems.
  • Contribute to test planning and validation, supporting physical testing and resolving technical issues through to sign-off.
  • Ensure all designs meet JLR standards and are delivered on time, to the required quality, and within cost targets.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of experience, recognised training, and capabilities such as:

  • Demonstrable experience in component engineering delivery, supported by a strong technical background and hands-on practical knowledge.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve business, technical, and process-related issues within a collaborative project team environment.
  • Solid understanding of product development and delivery processes, including change control, product definition, and change management.
  • A degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, is preferred.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent organisational and communication skills, particularly in managing DV (Design Verification) and PV (Production Validation) testing, reporting results, and resolving issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage effectively across teams and stakeholders.
