Your mission
You’ll drive and support the evolving Technology Vision and newly defined CTO strategy, ensure reliability, correctness and scalability of critical payment flows across the platform by combining exploratory testing with automation-first practices.
Your Tech Environment
You’ll be working in a modern, scalable tech environment built around Java (Spring Boot) and REST APIs on the backend, with React and PHP powering the frontend.
Our infrastructure is hosted on AWS, and the platform is designed as a set of distributed services with multiple external integrations, including payment providers.
We follow an API-first, automation-driven testing approach, leveraging tools like Playwright to ensure high reliability and fast delivery across critical payment flows.
- What You’ll Do
- Core Quality Ownership
- Take ownership of end-to-end quality of payment flows (deposit, payout, reconciliation)
- Validate business-critical scenarios, not just features
- Identify risks in transaction lifecycle (e. g. callback failures, timeouts)
- Testing and Automation
- Design and execute API-first test scenarios
- Build and maintain automated tests (API + selective UI)
- Develop reusable test components (clients, data builders)
- Integration Testing
- Test integrations and implement automation integration flow with external providers (Open Banking, payment processors)
- Validate async flows (callbacks, polling, retries)
- Debugging and Production Support
- Investigate production issues and reproduce bugs
- Work with logs, DB and API traces
- Support root cause analysis
- Collaboration
- Work closely with backend engineers on testability
- Define acceptance criteria with product team
- Contribute to release quality gates
- Continuous Improvement
- Help establish regression Testing Strategy
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (smoke tests, pre-release checks)
- Improve overall engineering quality standards
- What We’re Looking For
- Experience with API testing (REST, JSON, HTTP)
- Strong understanding of backend systems
- Experience with test automation (Playwright / Rest Assured / similar)
- Ability to debug issues using logs and databases
- Understanding of async systems (callbacks, queues, retries)
- Experience in payments / fintech
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
