We work with ambitious clients to help them solve their biggest business and customer challenges.

We help our clients to innovate and create intelligent digital products and services.

The Role

We arelooking for a self- motivated Senior Developer, proficient in i OSmobile development.

In this position, you will drive the end-to-end craft of building, developing, and deploying high-performance i OS components and services.

Whilst i OS will be your core area of expertise, we’re looking for someone with a curiosity and willingness to work across the wider mobile ecosystem.

Experience with, or an openness to working with, frameworks such as React Native and Flutter would be highly valued.

You don’t need to be an expert in every framework - we’re interested in developers who have strong engineering fundamentals, can adapt to different technologies and enjoy learning new approaches to solving mobile challenges!

Key aspects of the role include

  • Technical Excellence & Delivery: Designing and delivering end-to-end features and small subsystems; optimising app performance, accessibility, and responsiveness; and being accountable for successful delivery of features.
  • Communication & Stakeholder

Management: Explaining technical trade-offs in plain language; and presenting demos confidently to clients and stakeholders to shape tactical direction.

  • Leadership & Team Collaboration: Leading delivery of specific features or workstreams; and mentoring junior colleagues in both craft and process.
  • Culture & Community of Practice: Regularly mentoring others across the practice; and representing Waracle in interviews and recruitment panels.
  • Participating in ad-hoc duties from time to time as required by management.
  • What you'll bring

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Core Language & Framework

Expertise: Strong programming expertise in Swift, with hands‑on experience across Xcode, Git/Git Hub, XCTest and XCUITest, and a proven track record of shipping high-quality, production-scale i OS applications.

  • Architecture & Scalability: Deep understanding of modular app architecture and proven experience implementing scalable patterns such as MVVM.
  • SDK Development: Experience building, maintaining and integrating clean, scalable and well-documented SDKs designed for seamless adoption across engineering teams.
  • Swift Concurrency & Performance: Solid grasp of multi-threading and concurrency models—including async/await, GCD, and Operations—to engineer performant, thread-safe solutions.
  • Cross-Functional

Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with a focus on driving engineering reusability, inner-sourcing, and minimising technical waste across distributed teams.

  • Quality & Engineering

Practices: Active advocate for software excellence, using practices like Pair Programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), thorough Code Reviews, CI, and robust Automated Testing.

  • Cross-Platform Knowledge: Direct experience or familiar exposure with cross-platform mobile frameworks such as Flutter or React Native.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Mobile Security: Understanding of core mobile security principles, including secure data storage, robust authentication flows, and safe data handling.
  • Mobile Dev Ops & CI/CD: Hands‑on experience building and maintaining mobile deployment pipelines using tools like Git Hub Actions and Fastlane to automate build, test, and release workflows.
