Do you crave the kind of environment where you’re truly valued, where your opinion matters, and where clients feel like family? If so, this rare opportunity could be exactly what you’ve been searching for. A newly opened, purpose-built independent practice in central Bedfordshire is now looking for a confident, compassionate vet to join their growing team. Opened in March 2024 by the same passionate team behind a thriving clinic just three miles down the road, this new site has already attracted a loyal following — a testament to the team’s decades of clinical excellence and community trust. With over 50 years of combined experience behind them, this is a practice that prides itself on delivering exceptional care at a lower cost, without compromising on quality or compassion. Their ethos is all about building long-term relationships with clients, offering a personal touch, and creating a truly supportive, family-feel culture for both staff and pet owners alike. Set in a peaceful and picturesque parish town, the location offers the best of both worlds — a relaxed, countryside lifestyle with the convenience of superb rail links to London, Cambridge, Bedford, and Stevenage. Whether you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle or want an easy commute, this town makes a brilliant base. The practice itself has been designed with intention and care. From the calm, welcoming reception area to spacious exam rooms and private consultation spaces, everything has been built with both pets and people in mind. Modern, state-of-the-art equipment ensures clinical excellence, while the warm, approachable team brings it all together. You’ll be joining a lovely group of professionals: three experienced vets, three fantastic RVNs, a team of friendly receptionists, and a practice manager with over 25 years of nursing experience. It’s a close-knit, genuinely collaborative team where support, respect and laughter are part of the daily routine. To be the right fit, you’ll need a minimum of five years’ experience in general practice and feel comfortable with routine surgeries and consults. In return, you’ll enjoy a well-balanced working week of 30 hours, split across either four short days or three longer ones, and just one Saturday in four. There are no out-of-hours requirements, giving you the freedom to truly enjoy your time outside of work. With exciting expansion plans already in place — including taking over the unit next door — this is a brilliant moment to come on board and be part of something that’s still growing, still evolving, and still full of heart. If this sounds like the kind of role you’ve been waiting for, I would love to hear from you! The Package: – A superb salary of up to £65,000 – 30 days annual leave – Paid Birthday leave – Generous £1,500 CPD allowance – Certificate support – RCVS and VDS fees paid – Staff pet treatment at cost + VAT For more information or for a confidential chat, please contact Will on 01904 570056 or email to w.kovach-ward@purovets.com To view all our vacancies, please visit www.purovets.com And don\’t forget, if this position is of no interest to you but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on our details.
