As a key member of the UK and Global Accounting team, this position is based in London. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reporting, system and process design, project management, and internal control responsibilities. This role supports and influences the launch of Amazonβs new global business initiatives in consumer products and process automation. The leader will collaborate with global financial systems teams, accounting operations, tax, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include partnering with operational accounting and business finance groups to develop strategies, design training, create accounting tools for new launches, and contribute to platform development. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with ambiguity and complexity. A solid understanding of computing system interactions, internal controls, and reporting requirements is essential. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required to communicate risks to senior leadership effectively. Preferred candidates will have extensive experience in similar roles within large public companies or accounting firms, with demonstrated leadership in complex projects. Key Responsibilities 1. Lead and support projects related to new product launches and financial systems setup. 2. Manage complex cross-functional projects and communicate risks with recommendations to senior leadership. 3. Drive process improvements within new business launches and existing processes, including scope, goals, and deliverables. 4. Develop and transition processes supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. 5. Coordinate with global accounting teams to ensure effective communication. 6. Monitor quality standards to ensure compliance. Basic Qualifications – Experience using data and metrics for improvement. – Proven ability to own program strategy and communicate results to senior leadership. – Experience in program or project management.
