As a Procurement professional specialising in adult social care, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services essential to our frontline services. You will work closely with Client teams and suppliers, manage contracts, and maintain strong relationships to ensure the highest standards of care for the service users.
The role:
- To procure several strategically critical contracts to ensure continuation of service to vulnerable service users
- Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to adult social care needs
- Source and evaluate suppliers, draft and negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships
- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality care supplies and services
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings in the social care sector
- Collaborate with other departments and partner organisations, to understand their procurement needs and provide required support
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, particularly those related to procurement and social care
About you:
- Proven ability to work autonomously and without direction to meet the requirements of the role and Council priorities
- Proven ability to make decisions in line with the requirements of the role without the need to defer to more senior officers
- Proven ability to work on and prioritise multiple projects across a diverse range of subject matters
- Extensive knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret The Procurement Regulations and knowledge of the commercial aspects of other associated legislation, case law, policy and guidance, including the Provider Selection Regime
- Knowledge of contract clauses, contract formation and development, contract management and compliance
- Extensive experience within at least one of the following specialist areas: Adults or Children’s Services procurement and contracting
- Experience with the Procurement Act and to have worked in the PSR regime is desirable
- Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or equivalent or commensurate experience at a senior level in procurement
