Job Description Solar PV Design Engineer X2 – Home based – Operator Interviews June 2025 Due to rapid growth in the energy sector, we have an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled Solar PV Technical Design Engineer This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take the next step in their career and make a huge difference to one of the world’s foremost energy suppliers. Key responsibilities include – Taking the lead on designs including shading analysis, 3D modelling, electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules and connection diagrams, using AutoCAD software. – Performing computer simulation of solar PV generation system performance or energy production to optimise efficiency. – Reviewing and approving solar PV designs and recommending technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality or performance.in. What we need from you – Must have 7 – 10 years exp Solar PV design – Engineering / design skills and experience with a proven track record on a variety of PV schemes; both rooftop and ground mount. – Strong familiarity with PV manufacturers and components. – Detailed design experience in small wiring, containment, as built drawings, scaffolding and fall arrest / work restraint. – Working knowledge of standard and more advanced PC software tools (such as MS Office suite, AutoCAD, PV*SOL/PVSyst, modelling software, etc.) with the ability and willingness to learn new software tools. – Substantial knowledge of current relevant legislation with regards to HSSE, construction and services installation. – Thorough understanding, detailed experience and formal training in CDM responsibilities. – Experience in DNO G99 Applications. – Full UK/EU driving licence.
