Job Description *Vibrant South Coast location *Locally owned, busy practice *Experienced team *Salary up to £70,000 + relocation allowance* (*direct applicants only) Our team Our small animal practice in Portsmouth, Hampshire, is growing fast and we\’re excited to welcome an additional vet to join our friendly team, working alongside our experienced full-time vet and dedicated practice owner, Justyn, experienced vet Libby who is currently doing a certificate in surgery before going on to do her Vet GDP Adviser and regular locums and experienced vets, Alwyn and Keith. Our nurse team boasts over 30 years of combined experience, many of whom have been with us since starting their careers, including Head Nurse and Clinical Coach Louise who joined the practice in 2007 and has since gone on to coach many of our nurses, from when they first joined us as students. The team wouldn’t be complete without our dedicated Practice Manager Hayley and our warm welcoming team of Client Care Advisors with Debbie the newest member of the team telling us “After my interview I left feeling so confident about myself that it felt very natural when I started” – testament to the culture that the whole team has created together, under Justyn’s leadership. \”I founded Portsmouth Vets4Pets with a simple goal: to create the kind of practice I\’d want to be a part of. A place to deliver honest veterinary medicine and exceptional, personalised care, where the well-being of both our clients and our team are paramount. These values continue to drive us, and have enabled us to become a trusted name in the heart of our local community.\” Justyn, BVSc BSc MRCVS. The practice We’re an RCVS accredited, independently run, standalone practice with an excellent reputation in the heart of the community. Surrounded by parks and just a 15–20-minute walk to the nearest lake and beaches, our thriving GP practice has all the equipment you’d expect from a forward thinking, evolving practice, as well as a brand-new ultrasound machine and direct plate radiography system. We’ve also recently invested in a K-laser to incorporate laser therapy in managing a wide range of both acute and chronic conditions. As a forward-thinking practice, we’re also planning a full refurbishment of the practice to increase the facilities available, so there couldn’t be a more exciting time to join us! The role Although busy with a varied caseload we try to work at a steady pace with a well-managed diary to ensure we stay organised and finish on time as much as possible. Consults are normally 15 minutes’ but we always allow for longer for new colleagues joining us and for more complex cases. We really do work as a team and it’s always easy to ask for a 2nd opinion. This role can be very flexible with both full time and part time hours considered. The full-time role will be for 39 hours per week and will include Saturday mornings 9-12pm on a 1 in 3 rota basis. The part time hours will follow a similar pattern and ideally will be for 3 days a week and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. We also offer a day off each week, paid overtime, protected admin time and a supportive environment, along with no OOHs! About you In joining our team and supporting a great community and client base, we are looking for a colleague with solid GP experience, but most of all a team player with great communication skills and someone who shares our passion for providing the highest level of veterinary care. With that in mind, we are happy to consider applications from all skills levels. What we can offer In addition to a rewarding role in a superb location, you can also expect to receive: – Salary up to £70,000 dependant on experience – £2,000 welcome bonus (direct applicants only and paid upon successful probation period) – No OOH required – Paid holiday of 28 days, rising to 33 days after 2 years of service – Paid professional memberships including RCVS and VDS – Dedicated CPD allowance and time off including funding towards certificates – Life assurance 4 x annual salary – Contributory pension scheme – Cycle to work scheme – Colleague reward hub – exclusive offers and discounts online and on the high street, including 20% off at Pets at Home, Vets4Pets and the Groom Room The location Portsmouth itself is the most densely populated city outside of London and for good reason!
