Job Description Job Description Electronics Safety and Reliability Engineer Full Time Derby / Glasgow, Hybrid Working The EC&I Systems and Safety team develops the system design, safety case and information assurance case for the Reactor Control and Instrumentation, Power Systems and Plant Sensors for the Dreadnought and SSN AUKUS classes of submarine. What you will be doing: You will be involved in supporting current and future safety campaigns, working closely with key stakeholders to perform electrical control systems safety analysis and manage safety requirements: – Developing modern standard safety cases. – Undertaking hazard identification and safety analysis. – Justifying that equipment has met its categorisation and classification requirements. – Working closely with cross functional resource to produce and present robust substantiation (and implementation of engineering change). – Completing failure modes and effects analysis, fault tree analysis and functional failure analysis. – Preparing technical reports and documentation to a standard compatible with engineering best practice. Preferable: – Experience or knowledge of hazard identification techniques such as FMEAs, HAZOPs, Fault & Event Tree Analysis, and reliability evaluation methods.
