Job Overview and Shifts available:
- 1 block of 21:00 - 6:00 followed by 2 blocks of 23:00 - 8:00 on 3 off.
Overtime rate of 1.5, free onsite parking, complimentary meals and refreshments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Driving HGV 15 - 18 tonne company liveried vehicles in a secure & controlled environment.
- Carrying out vehicle checks prior to use.
- Loading and unloading catering uplifts to aircraft.
- Liaison with flight crew and working in collaboration with other ground handling suppliers.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle.
- Adhering to all Road Traffic Acts and additional Airport By-laws.
- Additional duties such as bar and stores packing or search and sealing will be a daily requirement along with any associated paperwork.
- Plus any additional warehouse duties.
Requirements of the HGV Driver:
- Valid clean HGV CAT C Driving Licence (up to 3 points will be considered).
- Digital Tachograph knowledge and possession of a digital tachograph card.
- Driver CPC qualification essential.
- Previous HGV experience desirable, Airport airside driving would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act.
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential.
- You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn.
In addition to job-related training, you will develop your skills in teamwork, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail.
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history. For any time spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC for that country.
