At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Chef Operative to work with an important company in the Wrexham LL13. The client is one of the leading manufacturers of chilled foods in the UK. The site at Wrexham has a culture of open communication and a positive work environment. They also have a workforce with 60% being over 10 years service.
We are currently recruiting for a production Chef to work within our sophisticated Industrial kitchens. The Wrexham site is a fast-paced operation, with an impressive 2 Million ready meals being produced each week.
Shifts and Pay
- 4 on 4 off either 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00 or 04:00-16:00/16:00-04:00
- £14.39 per hour on day shift / £15.46 per hour on night shift
- Early start allowance £4.27 for 4am starts per shift
Responsibilities
- The role is fast-paced in a 24/7 operation where the safety of all our colleagues is paramount.
- Produce sauces to the specification recorded on the cook sheet. To complete all documentation associated with the cooking process to the standard required.
- Take personal responsibility for ingredients and raw materials. To have in depth knowledge of ALL materials used in the cooking process.
- Attend sensory evaluation sessions and use the knowledge gained to ensure that sauces are cooked to the correct specification.
- Supply High Risk assembly with the correctly cooked sauce at the time it is required.
- Keep the work environment safe and clean to the standard required by health and safety and hygiene legislation.
Requirements
- Qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ qualification in Food and Drink
- Experience gained in manufacturing or hospitality Kitchens is desirable
- Willingness to undertake personal development initiatives to achieve personal and organisational objectives
- Demonstrate being punctual and reliable
- Be able to work as part of a team and under own initiative
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Have great communication skills
- Attention to detail
