At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for General Assistant to work with a leading company in the food manufacturing sector in Braintree.

Shift patterns: 06:00 - 15:00 | Mon - Fri | Fixed

Pay rates: £14.42 hourly

Essential requirements:

  • During the application process, you must provide a full 5-year work, education and address history with no gaps.
  • If you lived outside the UK for over 6 months, an overseas criminal record check will be required.
  • A Basic DBS check is mandatory for airside clearance (we will support you in obtaining this if needed), and you must have no unspent convictions that prevent clearance.
  • You must hold long‑term UK work rights (British passport, ILR or Settled Status).
  • An HMRC employment letter is required, and you must live within 40 minutes of site for 6am shifts and be flexible with shifts and days.

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or general assistant role preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet daily targets.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock and orders.
  • Ability to follow instructions and health & safety procedures at all times.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking approach to work.
  • Basic communication and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively.
