TOPSHOP and TOPMAN are iconic British fashion brands with 60 years of heritage. Headquartered in London, the Brands have over 2 million customers across the globe through the ASOS platform and generate brand sales of c£200m. Our mission is to unlock the best of fashion for everyone, with creativity and innovation at our core.

Following the formation of a Joint Venture between ASOS and HEARTLAND in October 2024, ASOS is creating a standalone cross-functional team within ASOS which is dedicated to unlocking the huge growth potential of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands. The brands will now benefit from ASOS infrastructure and resources while enjoying the creative freedom and agility of standalone brands. The next 12 months for TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will see the expansion of the brands’ offline and online retail presence with the launch of Topshop.com and new wholesale partnerships.

We are seeking a digitally focused Commercial operator to optimise the TOPSHOP & TOPMAN trading approach globally as the brands enter their next phase of growth. The role will build the brands’ trading calendar for core geographies, assessing the competitive backdrop and market idiosyncrasies and designing and implementing commercial actions to communicate our product and brand messages and increase full price sales.

The role is based in our London HQ, will report directly into the Managing Director, TOPSHOP & TOPMAN, and will work closely with the TSTM Product, Marketing and Performance & Insights teams.

You will:

  • Be responsible for the global trading operation of the Topshop and Topman brands across offline and online channels including Topshop.com and ASOS.com.
  • Work closely with TSTM Performance & Insights team to develop and monitor customer KPIs, sales and profit.
  • Combine a fashion and brand driven mindset with a data-obsessed approach to define and analyse our global trading strategy.
  • Adapt onsite navigation and content according to customer behaviour and seasonality to optimise the customer experience and drive full-price sell-through.
  • Collaborate with Customer & Marketing team to maximise ROI of marketing activities.
  • Determine and implement regional merchandising, pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Provide input on local market preferences into the category planning and buying process.
  • Monitor and benchmark the performance across all customer touch points and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Be a strong coach and manager, and demonstrate exceptional cross-functional leadership and influencing skills.

Qualifications

We are looking for exceptional candidates with the following strengths:

  • Proactive, inquisitive, analytical, results-oriented and experienced in utilising data to drive decision-making.
  • Strategic commercial thinking; the ability to translate customer needs and commercial opportunities to a sound commercial plan that yields short and long-term results.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence senior business stakeholders confidently.
  • Proven international e-commerce experience in a customer-focused, commercial leadership role. Preference for fashion brand experience.
  • Profound knowledge of trends, customer needs and the competitive landscape.
  • Proven ability to drive operational execution; a hands-on commercial operator.
  • Experience in leading and developing teams, providing inspirational leadership and coaching.
  • Exceptional communication: skilled at producing and presenting concise and informative presentations demonstrating vision, progress and plan for execution to senior management.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skillset.
  • A fast thinker, who works proactively to achieve stretch goals, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
