This is one of those rare early-stage roles that puts you on the ground floor of something genuinely meaningful — and you’ll see the direct impact of your work from day one.
We’re hiring on behalf of a trailblazing accessibility startup that’s building AI-powered tools to deliver sign language translation at scale — an industry first. Backed by a sharp founding team and working with cutting-edge tech (think AR, LLMs, GANs, etc.), they’re solving a problem that genuinely matters.
The Role: You’ll be among the first engineers joining this 0-to-1 journey, shaping a fresh codebase and making key architectural decisions. Think ML pipelines, real-time video and language processing, microservices — it’s all in play.
- Design and build ML models from scratch using Python + TensorFlow/PyTorch
- Ship features across both frontend and backend (FastAPI for now)
- Work on NLP, CV, generative AI (GANs/LLMs), and time-series models
- Own end-to-end ML capabilities: from idea to deployment
- Learn fast and contribute fast — no “wait and see” here
You might be a good fit if:
- You’re on track to graduate top of your class this summer OR already have 1–2 years' real-world ML/AI experience
- You’re comfortable building things from scratch and love solving novel problems
- You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty in the early-stage chaos
- You genuinely care about building tech that drives social good
Bonus points for experience with:
- Azure / cloud-native architectures
- MLOps/CI-CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
- AR/VR or creative use of AI for accessibility
The Offer:
- Up to ÂŁ49k
- 6-month fixed term contract (potential to go perm)
- Equity options available
- Flexible hybrid model — just ~4 days/month of in-person time
- Join a mission-first team, in an environment that’s creative, inclusive and relentlessly curious
This is an amazing chance to shape not just a product, but a movement. If you’re someone who’s been waiting to build something that matters — hit apply.
