Leveraging adaptive AI and audio intelligence, it delivers smarter, safer, and more productive voice interactions across networks, apps, and devices.About the PositionThe Senior Software Engineer is an Individual Contributor position responsible for developing services that power Hiya\’s applications. This position is strategically positioned to expand Hiya\’s engineering presence in London, providing better overlap with the core engineering team based in the United States. The role requires someone who can work independently and drive new service development, with a particular focus on creating new features to enhance the voice call experience. The team is responsible for developing mobile applications on iOS and Android, full-stack web applications with Node.js, and integrations with products built on Amazon Web Services. This position is based in our London office with our in-office requirement of 3-days a week.What You\’ll DoCollaborate with engineers in London and Seattle to design, create, deploy and manage services which power Hiya\’s mobile applications.Work closely with product managers, designers, and other partners to balance big ambitions & creative ideas with steady delivery.Improve processes, services, and software and participate in a culture of feedback and collaboration.Experiment in the voice space and push the boundaries of what\’s possible for connecting users with voice and generative AI.Learn and work with new technologies and find innovative ways of overcoming technical limitations.What You\’ll Need to SucceedPractical experience building RESTful APIs on Node.js using modern Javascript/Typescript.A working knowledge of modern deployment, management, and creation of cloud services.Knowledge of at least one component-based front-end web framework, such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.You have worked at a startup (You will have a fast start if you have experience:Shipping Node.js services which power mobile apps.Scaling up services to a massive scale with high availability & low latency.Leveraging AWS features and infrastructure to deploy your software.Building mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.Developing software in the telephony and VoIP space.More DetailsWhen determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered: skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.Salary: £80,000 – £115,000.Start Date: Immediately.Status: Full-time.Type: Hybrid, in-office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).Location: London.Travel Requirements: 1 week annually to USA.Department: Engineering.Reports to: Wilson Bull – Senior Engineering Manager.Direct Reports: No.Benefits25 holiday plus bank holidays.Opt in salary sacrifice pension scheme (company full 4% of basic salary contribution).Paid parental leave.Private medical, dental and vision insurance through Vitality.Employer-paid life insurance 2x base salary.Donation Matching for a charity of your choice (up to $1,000/year).WFH equipment stipend.$1,000/year in Professional Development funds.This position is based in London, UK.
