About the Role

This Role is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract with the potential for extension. Footballco is working with a number of high profile brands around the FIFA 2026 World Cup and is looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of one of our biggest clients. The role is a 12-month fixed term contract and we are looking for a self-starting, well organised and confident Project Director with experience in managing digital and social media campaigns in football.

Reporting into the Global Project Lead, the role will see the individual working as part of a dedicated client team to deliver this global activation, involving multiple shoots with top-tier football talent and the roll-out of the project across digital, social and OTT platforms. If you’ve spent a number of years working in a middle to senior position within an agency, rights holder or brand, delivering digitally and socially led football content marketing campaigns targeting sports fans; and if you truly understand the sports media landscape and the power of social media to engage with fans – then we want to hear from you! What You’ll be doing:

  • Strategy & planning – work with central strategy, planning and creative teams to help shape the overall direction of the client campaign
  • Campaign activation – own the activation and optimisation of the campaign and ensure they over deliver against predefined KPIs within the allocated budget
  • Set expectations, drive KPIs and optimise the wider Footballco digital output ensuring success, brand requirements are met and feedback is properly addressed.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets for various initiatives related to the client’s activation.
  • Creative understanding - guide content and creative teams using your understanding of media platform formats and styles of creatives that work best on each platform
  • Stakeholder management - develop a detailed understanding of all stakeholders, your clients ecosystem and build relationships
  • Campaign reporting – keep across all campaigns and make sure timely and accurate reports are delivered to all key stakeholders – highlighting key learnings and insights that will ensure we are constantly evolving and progressing our approach
  • Value add - develop ideas that add value to clients both from a business and relationship perspective

What You Have:

  • Extensive experience working in a senior account handling role within an agency, right holder or brand environment preferably in sport
  • Extensive knowledge of sports media, digital marketing and the social media space
  • Experience of working with brands, leagues or broadcasters on social media platforms
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple clients and tasks
  • Managing budgets and invoicing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent people management and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work across multiple teams
  • A high degree of self-motivation
  • A committed, positive and proactive approach
