The Department – Product
Are you a curious, action-oriented problem solver who loves getting stuck into discovery, prototyping, and user engagement? We’re looking for a Product Researcher to join our growing team—someone who thrives on working across the product lifecycle, from exploring ideas to shaping features and championing adoption. This role is deliberately cross-functional, sitting at the intersection of product strategy, research, design, and delivery. You’ll combine a passion for understanding user needs and market opportunities with hands-on prototyping and creative product engagement. Whether you’re validating an idea, running a workshop, or crafting internal product content—your mission is to help the Product team build things that matter.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Product Research and Discovery
- Conduct user research to uncover needs, pain points, and behaviours—via interviews, workshops, shadowing, surveys, and feedback forums.
- Carry out competitor and market research to understand trends, benchmarks, and opportunities for differentiation.
- Translate insights into clear user problems, jobs-to-be-done, or feature opportunities to guide product direction.
- Help shape and maintain user research repositories and insight libraries to support continuous discovery.
- Prototyping and Experimentation
- Support the development of prototypes—from sketches and mockups to clickable journeys and lightweight MVPs.
- Pair with product managers and engineers to design and iterate on early-stage concepts rapidly.
- Help plan and run usability tests and pilot phases to validate desirability, usability, and fit.
- Gather and synthesise feedback to inform product decisions and iteration paths.
- Product Engagement and Support
- Act as an advocate for the Product function—building visibility through demos, events, forums, and communications.
- Help co-ordinate early access programmes, user communities, and feedback cycles.
- Develop engaging internal content such as guides, FAQs, release communications, and training material.
- Support live products by capturing insights, triaging feedback, and identifying opportunities for enhancement or optimisation.
Skills/Experience
- Professional Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a product, UX, research, or innovation-related role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support user research and translate insights into action.
- Hands-on experience working on digital product development, ideally in agile or cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to low-code or rapid prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Power Platform, or similar) is a plus.
- Experience engaging stakeholders and running events, user sessions, or workshops is highly valued.
- Research and Prototyping Skills
- Comfortable designing and conducting research with a range of methods (qualitative and quantitative).
- Able to work with ambiguity and shape ideas into testable hypotheses or product concepts.
- Experience testing prototypes and gathering actionable feedback to drive iteration.
- Communication and Product Marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to convey product vision, updates, and insights clearly and engagingly.
- Experience producing user-facing documentation, visuals, or internal product marketing materials.
- Confident presenting to users and stakeholders across different levels and roles.
- Personal Attributes
- Proactive and entrepreneurial: You’re hands-on, always looking for ways to contribute, and unafraid to take the lead.
- User-obsessed: You care deeply about understanding and solving real user problems.
- Creative and curious: You love exploring new ideas, methods, and tools to test and learn.
- Collaborative: You thrive in a multidisciplinary environment and are comfortable switching hats.
- Outcome-focused: You care about impact and know how to balance rigour with pace.
