This is a full time role with our global client.

Summary

In this role, you will provide strategic and technical consulting services to clients in the power and utilities sector, with a focus on power systems planning, grid modernization, renewable integration, and energy transition strategies. You will be responsible for the development of advisory projects in helping to deal with regulatory, economic and electricity challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and model power systems, including transmission, distribution, and generation assets.
  • Support utility clients in planning and implementing smart grid and modernization initiatives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, due diligence, and risk assessments for energy infrastructure projects.
  • Identify opportunities for new and repeating consulting business, building an internal and external network for the exchange of information.
  • Create added value for customers and the organization, ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals, using a series of sales techniques, and negotiating tactics for the leading of sales activities.
  • Propose research & development projects including the scope of the budget, supporting the project management strategy including productization, modularization and following up on new products/solutions, including ongoing support with contract management activities.
  • Conduct risk and opportunities assessments, ensuring delivery of the assignment as per agreed contract.
  • Lead in the creation of new process and tool enhancement following the study of advanced techniques, with a lead to coach and develop subordinate colleagues.
  • Manage projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision.
  • Coach and review the work of lower level professionals.
  • Address problems that are difficult and sometimes complex.

Your background

  • Proven experience and knowledge of the electric power industry, market, systems and equipment.
  • Degree in electrical engineering preferred (Masters, PhD, MBA).
  • Proven experience in the design, understanding and performance of power systems studies.
  • Knowledge in power systems analysis, as well as experience in software simulation tools such as Digsilent Powerfactory, PSCAD, ETAP, PSS/E (power systems) and/or EMTP (electronic systems).
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, confident in presenting data.
