The growing London operation of an international banking group with global assets of $200 billion. The business in London comprises private banking, commercial and wholesale banking together with retail activities. Due to continued expansion and growth, a new role has been created within their small risk team to deliver strong risk reporting, improved data quality and continual improvements to support decision taking. You will help oversee the bank’s risk profile, support the implementation of risk strategies, and ensure alignment with regulatory standards and internal policies. You will provide essential oversight of daily risk controls, contribute to the development and review of risk policies, and deliver insightful reporting to senior management and key committees.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AS ESSENTIAL- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an operational risk-focused role within a bank.
- Experience of Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and how to appropriately design/evaluate/test/mitigate them.
- Strong experience of building and populating various reports – able to demonstrate attention to detail and to be able to question/interrogate the data to ensure it aligns to a Bank’s risk appetite.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to demonstrate initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Support the monitoring and management of the organisation’s risk profile in line with approved risk governance, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee day-to-day risk controls and ensure compliance with the established risk appetite.
- Prepare and deliver regular and ad-hoc risk reports to senior management and relevant committees.
- Aggregate and analyse risk data from business units to provide a holistic view of the bank’s risk position.
- Report any breaches or excesses above agreed risk limits to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Assist in the development, review, and annual update of risk management policies, procedures, and key regulatory documents (e.g., ICAAP, ILAAP, RRP).
- Support stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and capital/liquidity adequacy assessments, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain accurate risk incident logs and ensure timely distribution of relevant information.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of internal risk management tools and systems including design and implementation of KRI’s.
- Assist in the timely submission of regulatory returns.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by senior management.
