We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Sweeper Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for specialized vehicles designed to clean streets, builders yard & 2 Quarries. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that sites remain tidy, preventing debris from causing hazards and disruptions. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be essential in supporting our ongoing project.

If you are an experienced sweeper driver with a passion for keeping things clean, you must have a valid clean HGV Class 2 - Class C License.

Operating hours are 07.00 - 17.00 Monday to Friday, with overtime as and when required for operations, including some weekend working. Based in Milton Keynes, England, United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Sweeper Vehicles: Drive and manoeuvre street sweeper vehicles to clean streets, builder's yard, and other areas in compliance with company standards.
  • Inspection and Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the sweeper vehicle. Identify and report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to maintenance personnel.
  • Clean-Up Operations: Remove debris, dirt, leaves, litter, and other materials from designated areas. Ensure surfaces are clean and safe for pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Document Work: Complete all required paperwork, including work logs, maintenance reports, and safety checklists.
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices.
  • Support in Emergency Clean-Ups: Respond to emergency clean-up requests or hazardous situations, such as spills or road hazards.
  • Communication: Report any hazardous conditions or obstacles to supervisors, and work with the team to ensure efficient clean-up operations.
  • General Maintenance: Assist with minor maintenance issues i.e. changing brushes and cleaning filters.
  • Other work: Potentially operating other machinery & plant when needed, also occasionally driving an 8 wheel tipper when sweeper is not required so tipper experience would be ideal but not essential as full training would be given.

Qualifications:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 - Class C License: Must have a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Prior experience of operating street sweeper vehicles or similar machinery is preferred, though on-the-job training may be provided.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be able to identify areas that need cleaning and perform tasks accurately.
  • Basic Mechanical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle operation and the ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
