The Role
We are seeking a high-performing Middle Office & Risk Associate to support our trading and investment teams across financial and physical markets. This role spans daily P&L reporting, trade lifecycle oversight, valuation control, and risk reporting. You will work closely with traders, risk managers, finance, and technology to ensure accuracy, transparency, and operational excellence across a broad portfolio including physical and financial commodities, equities, and credit.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and reconcile daily P&L reports; investigate and explain variances.
- Validate market valuations and positions across physical and derivative books.
- Support the physical trading business with inventory, margin, and exposure reporting.
- Ensure accurate trade capture and resolve discrepancies or trade breaks.
- Assist with portfolio analytics, exposure tracking, and risk reporting.
- Contribute to month-end close, inventory valuation, and audit processes.
- Enhance and automate reporting and control frameworks; support system improvements.
- Create and direct the development of internal dashboards for reporting, in collaboration with technology and data teams.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ yearsβ experience in Product Control, Middle Office, or Trade Operations at either:
- a commodities merchant/trading house (with exposure to freight and physical/financial commodities), or
- a multi-strategy hedge fund (with exposure to commodities, equities, and credit).
