Our multidisciplinary team (MDT) model enables us to deliver gold standard care with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and clinical integrity.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Medical Director (Psychiatrist) to join our leadership team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of adult mental health and neurodevelopmental care within a thriving and ambitious organisation.
Role Responsibilities
- Clinical Provision (6 sessions): Deliver high-quality psychiatric care
- Supervision (2 sessions): Provide leadership and oversight to MDT and medical staff
- Regulatory & Service Development (2 sessions): Lead on clinical governance, compliance, and service innovation
- Strategic & Operational Leadership: Collaborate with senior leaders to drive growth and performance across the organisation
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new mental health and neurodevelopmental services
- Lead the development of safe, effective ADHD medication pathways
- Ensure services are compliant with GMC, CQC, NICE and other regulatory frameworks
- Act as clinical lead during CQC inspections and external audits
- Workforce Development & Culture: Lead and supervise psychiatrists, ADHD nurse prescribers, and other clinical staff to ensure high standards of care
- Oversee training, mentorship, and CPD for the clinical workforce
- Support recruitment, retention, and long-term workforce development
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, ethics, and patient-centred care
- Collaborate closely with senior clinical leads across RTN Diagnostics and RTN Medical to ensure integrated service delivery
- Model and uphold RTN’s organisational values in all aspects of leadership and clinical practice
- External Engagement: Act as RTN Medical’s clinical representative in meetings with commissioners, regulators and partner organisations
- Contribute clinical insight to bids, tenders and partnerships
- Represent RTN Medical at external forums, panels, or conferences where appropriate
About You
- Mandatory requirements:
- GMC registration with no conditions or warnings
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry
- Background in neurodevelopmental services (e.g., ADHD, autism)
- Experience in private prescribing and medication management
