The successful candidate will support detailed piping calculations and stress analysis for high-profile projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop expertise in pipework design for high-integrity and safety-critical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform and support piping calculations, including:Flexibility and stress analysis of piping systemsThermal expansion, pressure loads, and support reactionsStatic and dynamic loading conditionsUse engineering tools such as CAESAR II and Pipestress to carry out analysisPrepare and contribute to calculation notes, technical justifications, and review documentsCollaborate with layout teams on piping routing, support locations, and design optimisationEnsure all calculations and analyses meet international codes and standards (ASME, RCC-M, EN)Review pipe support drawings and related documentationParticipate in multi-disciplinary project meetings and engineering discussionsAdhere to quality processes and maintain traceable documentation in line with regulatory standardsKey RequirementsEssential:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldStrong understanding of mechanics of materials, stress analysis, and fluid dynamicsInterest in piping systems and willingness to develop expertise in code-based calculationsBasic familiarity with tools like CAESAR II, PipeNet, or similar (training provided)Strong communication and reporting skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to work within regulated environmentsRight to work in the UKPreferred:Internship or academic project experience in pipe stress or mechanical designAwareness of industry codes such as RCC-M, ASME Section III, or EN 13480Exposure to CAD or plant design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, SmartPlant 3D)Knowledge of additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian) is a plus
