DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Investment Banking business.Our EMEA Energy, Power, Renewables & Mining (EPRM) team is responsible for the origination and execution of public / private M&A and capital markets transactions involving corporate clients and financial sponsors in the broader sector. The team has a large network of relationships with the most prominent companies in the EMEA region, and across all subsectors.As an Associatein the EMEA EPRM Investment Banking coverage team, you will play a vital and accountable role in maintaining a strategic dialogue with key clients and executing M&A and capital markets transactions. You will play a pivotal role in implementing the execution function including working with fellow junior bankers as well as assisting more senior bankers.You will also have plenty of opportunities topartner with colleagues from other countries and product teams such as M&A, ECM and DCM.Job responsibilitiesInteract with senior deal team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactionsSupport origination efforts and any client engagement initiatives by preparing marketing pitches, presentations or any such analysis that may be required to win a new mandateDefine, guide and review detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analyses; and any other detailed combination and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions or pitch situationsCoordinate with other teams including leveraged finance, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, ratings and creditKeep abreast of key market developments in the sector and enhance knowledge of the client base and relevant market dynamicsProvide leadership, mentorship and supervision to analystsRequired qualifications, capabilities and skills3-5 years of prior, relevant work experience in Investment BankingExceptional financial modelling, valuation and analytical skillsHighly organized, detail oriented and proactive, energetic and decisive, with high level of integrityExcellent technology skills with deep knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint skills and ability to quickly learn new software applicationsHighly motivated, adaptable, able to multi-task and manage projects independentlyExceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validityAbility to comfortably interact with clients and colleagues in a professional and mature mannerPreferred qualifications, capabilities and skillsExperience in the broader Energy, Power, Renewables and Mining spaceAdditional European language skillsThis role encompasses the performance of regulated activity.
