Our client is a leading UK company. An opportunity has arisen for a HR Manager with Payroll responsibility to lead a team of three whilst overseeing payroll operations for 3,000 employees across their multi-site organisation.This isn\’t just an HR role – it is a diverse, role with a Payroll and project-focus. You will be the senior expert managing multiple concurrent projects whilst developing your team and supporting our fast-paced, social business environment.The key responsibilities of this role are:Strategic Payroll Leadership:Manage outsourced payroll relationship as dedicated account managerAttend regular business review meetings and track KPIs and performance metricsReview invoices, contracts, and manage casesSupport sites with monthly payroll processes and provide training and guidanceAdvise on complex escalated payroll issues requiring senior expertiseProject Management:Lead multiple central projects simultaneously throughout the year with tight deadline managementOrchestrate annual pay reviews and bonus scheme processing across 3,000 employeesConduct compliance checks and implement uplifts as requiredManage pension auto-enrolment and re-enrolment cyclesProcess P11D returns and manage payrolling benefits complianceHandle complex payroll requirements for redundancies and TUPE acquisitionsCoordinate with multiple stakeholders across all projectsDay-to-Day Operations:Process new starters, leavers, and contract variations for central support teamsDraft contracts, offer letters, and variation lettersManage statutory payments including maternity, paternity, and sickness benefitsKeep pay bands current and circulated across the organisationEnsure HR policies remain compliant with statutory requirementsApprove invoices and credit card expenditureTeam Leadership & Development:Line manage three direct reports (two HR Assistants and one HR Administrator)Conduct regular one-to-ones and support career development plansEnsure team members remain engaged and motivatedDelegate work effectively whilst maintaining oversight of quality and deadlinesSupport team development and progression needsSystems & Compliance:Maintain system accuracy including job titles and organisational structure updatesEnsure system interfaces work correctly, particularly time and attendance integrationRun regular compliance checks on mandatory fields like right-to-work documentation and personal licensingGenerate ad-hoc reports for the wider team when requiredMonitor and resolve system administration issuesBenefits Administration:Manage pension administration and serve as account manager for all benefit providersEnsure accurate information flow and proper documentation between all partiesLead the annual benefits renewal process alongside HR OfficerOversee compliance with regulationsEnsure correct processing of payrolled benefits and P11D requirementsApplicants must HR Management experience with end to end knowledge of the payroll and benefits processes.Katie Bard is acting as an agency and is an equal opportunities employer.
