Head of Engineering

Position: Head of Engineering – Remote Europe Our client is actively seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to establish and lead their European hub. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with their engineering team in Asia to drive the technology roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS B2B applications, AI, and machine learning, with an understanding of the retail software solutions landscape. The tech stack includes Node.js, Golang, Python, GraphSQL, Postgres, Terraform, React.js, Angular, and Typescript. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage complex engineering projects within a SaaS environment. Guide cross-functional, distributed teams to deliver high-quality results within deadlines. Cultivate a culture of innovation, mentorship, and skill development. Make strategic decisions aligning technology with business goals, including scaling SaaS and market expansion. Spearhead R&D efforts applying foundation models to solve real-world problems. Design, build, and maintain backend systems capable of handling millions of records with optimal performance. Qualifications: 8+ years of engineering experience, with 2-3 years in leadership roles. Proven expertise in SaaS B2B applications and related business models. Knowledge of AI, machine learning, NLP, and deep learning frameworks. Familiarity with foundation and multi-modal models. Proficiency in cloud computing and data processing technologies. Preferable experience in retail software solutions. Leadership experience in multicultural startup environments. Strategic mindset, continuous learning, and tech-savviness.
