We are searching for a high performing and strong Technical Accountant from an audit or technical advisory background (big 4 preferred), experienced in technical accounting, reporting, consolidation and financial analysis.
This role will be a lead role in understanding and analysing the impact of new accounting standards, accounting issues and changes in accounting policies on the financial performance. One direct report in a wider team of 8, sitting in the Senior Leadership team.
Accountabilities:
- Supporting Senior leadership by performing technical research, analysis and drafting technical papers where appropriate on emerging technical accounting issues.
- Reviewing analysis and explaining actual corporate financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc basis.
- Preparation of the Group Annual Report and Accounts and related Board papers.
- Manage the delivery of key departmental outputs - quarterly/half yearly: Annotated Pages; and annually: BA Group Annual Report and Accounts and subsidiary Statutory Accounts.
- Provide technical accounting advice on an ad-hoc basis to key stakeholders.
- Develop a broad understanding of financial aspects of the business.
- Review statutory accounts for several centrally managed subsidiaries for technical and legal compliance.
- Work within and promote the internal controls environment - implement control mechanisms, monitor, review and continuously improve.
