Department: CHS Family Practice Phys
Job Summary: Under general supervision, works with clinical staff/physician to provide primary healthcare to patients. Examines and diagnoses patients and develops treatment plans. Provides treatment for illnesses, injuries, emergencies, prenatal care, follow-up, screening, and testing as appropriate for the clinical setting. Performs testing, referrals, writes prescriptions, and performs procedures within scope, protocols, and available equipment. Residents deliver evidence-based care in outpatient and inpatient settings, may provide case management and coordination, and function as part of the interdisciplinary team, offering clinical teaching to APP students, residents, and staff.
Essential Functions:
- Monitors and evaluates patient conditions, orders tests, prescribes medications, and refers for consultation as needed, complying with standards and protocols. Completes documentation thoroughly and promptly. (80%)
- Attends didactics, clinic, and administrative meetings; meets with mentors; completes evaluations of clinical experiences. (20%)
Education: Master's Degree as Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse required
Work Experience: Relevant clinical experience preferred.
Licenses: PA-Physician Assistant - State Medical Board or NP-Nurse Practitioner - AANPCB Certification required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Didactic and supervised clinical training in primary care assessment and treatment. Effective participation in multidisciplinary teams. Masters-level communication skills (written and oral). Computer proficiency required.
Shift: Regular hours.
Work Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000/year.
