About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Durability & Robustness (D&R) PAT Leader to join a leading automotive team in the Gaydon area. This role is pivotal in enhancing the customer experience by ensuring that all durability and robustness attributes of vehicles meet or exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the definition, development, and delivery of D&R attribute targets across vehicle programmes.
- Develop and manage Design Verification (DV) plans using both virtual and physical test methods.
- Ensure timely delivery and reporting of all test activities aligned with DV plans.
- Raise and manage technical issue reports within 48 hours of identification.
- Support the Programme Attribute Team in resolving technical issues and achieving gateway deliverables.
- Collaborate with component engineers and suppliers to ensure robust engineering solutions.
- Maintain and track issues using the Automated Issues Management System (AIMS).
- Capture and integrate lessons learned into future programme planning.
Key Performance Indicators:
- All attribute targets cascaded and accepted across engineering teams.
- On-time delivery of vehicle sign-off documentation.
- Accurate and timely reporting of test results and issue resolution.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Broad knowledge of vehicle systems and technologies.
- Strong understanding of durability and strength principles, including data collection and analysis.
- Familiarity with system engineering and problem-solving methodologies.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience managing complex engineering test activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exposure to CAD visualisation tools (e.g., VisMockUp).
- Cross-functional experience in whole vehicle engineering.
Education & Qualifications:
- A relevant engineering degree or equivalent industry experience is preferred.
