Redbridge Council is seeking a Director – Regeneration and Growth to shape and deliver a bold, place-based agenda that drives sustainable economic development, housing strategy, and vibrant communities. About the Role

As Director – Regeneration and Growth, you will lead a broad portfolio of services including economic development, housing strategy, and place-making. Reporting to the Executive Director of Place, you will play a key role in delivering Redbridge’s strategic ambitions through high-performing, customer-focused services.

You will be accountable for:

  • Leading the strategic direction and operational delivery of regeneration and growth initiatives across the borough.
  • Driving inclusive economic development and ensuring access to high-quality, affordable housing.
  • Overseeing major regeneration programmes and ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Championing Redbridge as a place to live, work, invest and do business—working closely with the GLA, developers, and local businesses.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for leisure and cultural services that enhance quality of life.
  • Advising Members and shaping strategy aligned with Redbridge’s Corporate Strategy and growth ambitions.
  • Building strong partnerships across the public, private, and voluntary sectors to deliver shared goals.

About You

  • A successful track record at a senior level in regeneration, economic development, or related services within a large, complex organisation.

  • Political astuteness and the ability to work effectively with Members and stakeholders.
