Job Description
The Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) team creates and delivers products to Visa clients and accelerates the seamless delivery of our products. Our team provides an opportunity for Visa to diversify its revenue with differentiated products and solutions that deepen customer relationships and deliver innovative solutions across other networks. VCS has high growth ambitions; we expect to more than double our business over the next five years. This is a unique opportunity to be part of expanding sales outside core Visa offerings in the fast-moving world of payments.
This role will be responsible for partnering with high growth acquiring clients to achieve ambitious targets for new commercial card acceptance with a focus on ecommerce. The scope is Pan-EU and will require travel to meet key clients across the region. Business payments are the largest untapped opportunity for Visa in Europe and this role will be central to bringing new flows onto the Visa network.
We will be working in an agile environment so this person must be proactive in ensuring we achieve our goals, and skilled in pivoting and adjusting as new information and opportunities come to light.
What we expect of you, day to day:
- Leads prospecting and new customer acquisition strategies with acquirers; works jointly with acquirers on selling the benefits of card to end corporates and businesses.
- Focuses on growing new B2B card acceptance in ecommerce scoping opportunities with acquirers and relevant players such as marketplaces to increase card acceptance.
- Works closely with Account Executives to coordinate opportunities with overall customer success plan/account plan and builds new relationships.
- Understands the pain points and needs of acquirers to develop compelling propositions for them both in acceptance and issuing.
- Knowledgeable about the different B2B payment needs of businesses from the micro small business up to the large corporate and has a good grasp of the dynamics of acquiring and commercial banking.
- Able to tell a compelling story about the benefits of commercial card payments including working capital, fraud, and reduced friction for buyers and suppliers.
- Thinks outside the box to create deal constructs that are unconstrained by conventional thinking.
- Researches customer and market trends to identify potential new clients and opportunities for opening up acceptance and new issuing by non-traditional clients.
- Assesses deal potential after identifying new opportunities based on strong Visa product/solution knowledge, and maintains cross-functional relationships to pull in specialists/engineers where needed to drive deals forward.
- Leads with a client-first sales mindset and creates custom, differentiated solutions that grow Visa and clients' business.
- Maintains awareness of deal margins when negotiating and effectively sells and negotiates based on value to close deals quickly and effectively.
- Leverages internal (e.g., Legal, Finance, Risk & Compliance, Marketing) and external partnerships to bring the best of Visa to clients.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Senior level B2B sales experience in acquiring and card payments.
- Experience working closely with or selling to high growth fintech acquirers, B2B software platforms and ISVs.
- Ideally demonstrated experience talking to Treasurers, Finance and Procurement heads on working capital, financial ROI, and impact to the bottom line.
Knowledge Focus Areas:
- Deep knowledge of the various sales cycles and stages.
Skills/competencies:
- The successful candidate will effectively lead new customer acquisition activities and effectively manage them throughout the entire sales cycle. In doing so, the candidate can work collaboratively across internal Visa functions to build a Visa network, solve complex problems, and serve as the face of Visa to external partners.
- The ideal candidate will bring passion for and interest in Commercial Payments, Fintech, and Acquiring, with client-relationship building skills, presence, knowledge of acquiring industry strategies and priorities.
