Bring yours to Block.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Compliance Lead to join Block and support the continued build out of our Cash App Compliance program. Our mission is to make banking and financial services accessible to the underserved and unbanked by designing and implementing an outstanding compliance program to help grow the Cash App business while protecting the broader financial ecosystem and the Company.In this role, you will support the Cash App Compliance Customer Onboarding and Management (“COM”) program by building, developing, and leading a compliance operations team responsible for conducting in depth compliance reviews as part of our due diligence process.ResponsibilitiesOversee KYC/Sanction team operations, including training, hiring, coaching, and managing staff as well as program developmentDevelop and maintain procedures applicable to the teamIdentify training opportunities; design/coordinate the development of training materialsIterate on existing workflows, and streamline/ enhance operational efficiencyWork with other Compliance Leads to drive strategic planning on team growth, organizational structure, focus areas, and quarterly goalsUnderstand regulatory landscape and compliance requirements; with emphasis on applicable Compliance and AML requirements that include customer identification, due diligence best practicesCreate, monitor, and execute against key operational metrics and implement solutions with COM program managers regarding any issues identifiedLiaise with program management on ongoing technology, and process/workflow change initiatives and ensure appropriate team adoptionMaintain up to date knowledge on AML regulatory changes and landscapeProvide guidance and insight on account escalations, including handling account escalations from junior team membersDrive collaboration with Support, Risk, and other operations teams within BlockQualificationsYou have:5+ years in a AML senior compliance / compliance operations role with a financial services firm, preferably in the payment or Fintech space3+ years people management experience, including coaching and developing compliance specialists/ analystsStrong operational knowledge in executing and running a sound Compliance program, preferably with hands-on knowledge of MSB regulatory requirementsFamiliarity with AML laws,regulations, and guidance (for the UK, POCA, MLR, FCA Handbook, and/or JMLSG Guidance). he ability to analyze regulations for determining permissible transactions and activity.Direct experience working with examiners and auditors requiredA strong analytical and metrics driven approach to create substantiated solutions and efficiencyStrong strategic vision and leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire team membersExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent Block at industry eventsSelf-starter who can perform flawlessly with minimal directionAbility to present and communicate findings to senior leadershipAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust quickly as things changeProven ability to operate in ambiguous environments and exhibit flexibility in navigating from current state to proposed solutionsEven Better:Proven working experience as an operations leadRelevant industry certifications (CAMS, ACFCS, ICA, CRCM)Strong knowledge of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrenciesFluency in a language other than EnglishExperience in international marketsExperience with SQL and/or LookerAdditional InformationWe’re working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
