Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid)
Salary: £58,000 - £70,000 (DoE) + Bonus
Experience needed: We are looking for an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in contract negotiation and lifecycle management within a complex environment or sector. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of MoD contracting and applicable regulations.
About the role: An exciting opportunity has opened to join the Commercial team as a Commercial Contracts Manager, where you will play a key role in shaping, negotiating, and managing strategically important defence contracts. You will be responsible for leading high-value contract negotiations, managing agreements from bid through to closeout, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is critical to enabling successful programme delivery and securing new business in a complex and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the negotiation of contractual terms and conditions in line with company objectives
- Manage the full Route to Contract process: bid support, cost alignment, proposal generation, and negotiation of bespoke terms and conditions
- Provide commercial leadership during contract delivery, including amendments, deliverables, and acceptance criteria
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards (including ITAR, EAR, FAR/DFARS, DEFCONs, and QDCs)
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external customers on contractual matters
- Support risk identification and mitigation planning in collaboration with other departments
- Oversee contract lifecycle management including renewals, extensions, and closeout activities
- Deliver timely reporting and updates to senior leadership on contract performance and risk status
- Resolve contract disputes effectively with support from legal and relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to business-winning activities by supporting competitive and compliant commercial proposals
