Why This Role?
We’re hiring an experienced and strategic Chief Tax Officer to lead the Tax Knowledge function - a critical pillar in the business. This is not your traditional in-house compliance role. You’ll operate at the intersection of AI, structured tax knowledge, and expert reasoning, helping to build a product that feels like having a CTA on the team 24/7/365. This is an exciting chance to code tax knowledge into logic that drives powerful software.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and Maintain Tax Knowledge Structures - Create and manage detailed tax ontologies, classifications, and knowledge bases.
- Develop Rule-Based Reasoning Systems - Build systems that simulate expert decision-making and automate tax logic - The Tech team will be working with you on this!
- Collaborate with Tax Experts - Work alongside subject matter experts to validate and refine rules and structured knowledge.
- Keep Logic Current and Legally Accurate - Maintain alignment with evolving legislation, HMRC guidance, and legal precedents.
- Contribute to Platform Architecture - Help shape the design of scalable, transparent knowledge systems for long-term growth.
