This role offers an excellent opportunity for personal growth within our specialities division. A division created 3 years ago with the ambition to provide consumers with healthier, cleaner and more sustainable food and drink through ingredient innovation. Due to our success and growth within the B2B food and drink manufacturing industry, we’re now looking for someone who can be part of the evolution with the same aspirations and passion for ingredients, innovation and ultimately better foods.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities to drive company growth. The role requires building strong relationships with prospective clients, maintaining a robust sales pipeline, and working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver ingredient solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and strategic outreach.
- Develop and implement effective sales and business development strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches.
- Lead negotiations and close commercial agreements to achieve sales targets.
- Collaborate with our technical/development and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with other internal departments directly associated with sales (e.g. operations, finance) to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
- Track and report on pipeline activity, revenue forecasts, and key performance metrics.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine strategy.
- Proven track record in B2B sales or business development.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and client management skills.
- An adequate technical knowledge of ingredients and their function in manufactured foods and beverages.
- Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in CRM tools (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce) and MS Office.
- Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving targets.
- Full Clean Driving License.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in a business development, sales, or commercial role.
