The predicted salary is between 18000 - 30000 £ per year.

Duration: contract to run until 31/12/2025

Location: Northampton, Hybrid 2/3 days onsite

Rate: up to £230 p/d Umbrella inside IR35

Role purpose / summary

Under minimal supervision, create Automation scripts - estimates, scripts, pre and post conditioning. Executes Automated Tests and collates evidence for Test automation progress reporting and tracking. Articulates the tests executed, data used, the results and defects to project stakeholders.

Key Skills/ requirements

  • Participate in discussions with functional team to understand the gherkin tests along-with required Pre and Post conditions.
  • Create query log/ mind map/ flow charts.
  • Create Automation code using Java, Selenium, JQuery, Cucumber.
  • Set up and Execute Automated tests and record evidence.
  • Raise defects with appropriate amount of details.
  • Hand-over the automated scripts post stabilization to functional release teams and feature teams.
  • Constant communication and follow-ups with various stakeholders to track deliverable during test automation and dry-run phases where applicable.
  • Escalate issues to LM as appropriate.
  • Complete tasks / deliverables within schedule constraints (for self).
  • Provide guidance to other team members on technology/ application queries.

Person Specification:

  • Exposure to Automation testing using Selenium, Java, Cucumber and JQuery.
  • Should have exposure to Agile methodologies, Jenkins set-up and some banking domain exposure.
  • Should possess high analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Quite often the role will require an individual to impact assess critical and complex test automation problems (such as framework/approach/interdependencies/GUI design/test data to be used etc) in short time durations hence having significant knowledge on the HTML DOM structure and application (ROLB) will be the key.
