The Information Services Group (ISG) provides research support to the global Investment Banking (IB) teams of Goldman Sachs, with expertise and experience in their industry coverage vertical.
Responsibilities involve receiving ad-hoc data requests from Investment Banking and extracting the relevant information from various databases available. This includes interpreting requests and deadlines, identifying databases best suited for the job, providing and reviewing data for any apparent anomalies.
The role is aligned with the EMEA Financial Institutions group, covering clients in the Banking, Asset Management, Insurance, Fintech, and other similar industries.
- Liaise with our deal teams to ensure an exact understanding of their requirements and provide concise and focused research via 3rd party databases and resources, GS Research, and internal sources as required.
- Prepare industry specific pages for use in pitchbooks.
- Continue to develop and improve the process and practice of Information Services and content management.
- Provide guidance for bankers in accessing, compiling, manipulating, and downloading data from databases available on banker desktops.
- Maintain and develop relationship with business unit stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with our 3rd party vendors.
- Co-ordinate workflow with global team members of Information Service support function.
- Partner with Compliance and Banking Technology to understand and manage data and contract risk, usage, and copyright restrictions.
Qualifications and Required Skill Set
- Drive, enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent communication skills.
- Strong quantitative and technical abilities.
- Working knowledge of key accounting principles and valuations metrics both broadly and in relation to banks, and financial institutions, and related sub-segments.
- Experience within financial service, consulting, or similar industries.
- Self-confidence to interact with internal clients, and the ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
- Excellent PC skills particularly with MS Excel and strong numerical skills.
- Experience with FactSet, SNL (CapIQ Pro), eVestments, AM Best, Dealogic, CapIQ, Refinitiv, Tableau, Euromonitor, Pitchbook, preferred.
- Up to date with emerging business, economic, regulatory, and market trends broadly and particularly to the Financial Institutions sector.
Education
Graduate with degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or similar numerate subject.
