Main Purpose of the Job
- To ensure that Sheltered Housing Schemes are cleaned to a standard that is adequate to meet the needs of both the tenants and the standard set by management.
- To respond to tenants who summon help in emergency situations and help care for the general well-being and safety of residents in sheltered accommodation.
- To assist in ensuring the security of sheltered housing schemes is maintained at all times when on the scheme.
- To assist in fostering a community spirit by promoting sheltered accommodation, developing the scheme as a centre of excellence and organising social events/activities.
- To assist in monitoring and promoting the general well-being and safety of tenants in residential sheltered accommodation with a view to preserving and encouraging their independence.
Principal Accountabilities
- To vacuum all carpeted areas that are common to tenants within Sheltered Schemes.
- To clean all common areas including both kitchen and toilet facilities where they are included in the scheme, ensuring all equipment e.g. urns, kettles, cupboards etc. are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Dust as required ensuring common areas are of satisfactory standard.
- To clean those external areas as designated by the Senior Scheme.
