This role involves delivering operational excellence across various HR processes including HR Advisory, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Contracts, FOIs, DBSs, and Invoices. The role also acts as a key liaison supporting payroll functions and escalates payroll-related issues within the Council.
The HR Assistant will handle non-complex casework related to absence management, grievances, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Accountabilities
- Makes judgments on workload prioritization, managing urgent requests with support from the Team Leader and service manager.
- Supports casework, absence data, recruitment, workforce reporting, systems support, and organizational development based on customer demand.
- Acts as a first point of contact for HR queries, resolving process or policy issues, and triaging requests to relevant HR personnel.
- Demonstrates flexibility by working across HR teams to support workload fluctuations and developing cross-team knowledge.
- Uses HR systems and databases to record actions accurately, complying with information management policies.
- Maintains compliance with Data Protection Act, GDPR, and confidentiality protocols.
- Promotes continuous improvement within the HR function by identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Builds relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to support HR initiatives.
