Key tasks/responsibilities:

  • Emptying and sorting of refuse containers
  • Collecting illicit tipping
  • Litter picking where required
  • Taking rubbish to the amenity site at the end of the rounds
  • Drive a vehicle, reporting all defects and ensuring that the road traffic act is adhered to at all times
  • Encourage and monitor recycling across the site
  • Investigate and implement procedures that improve recycling
  • Report to line manager when stock levels are low
  • Clean relevant areas in the absence of cleaning staff
  • Ensure that work is undertaken according to the Departmental Health and Safety Policy, any safe systems of work and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Undertake any other duties by the request of management
