Maintenance Officer
Job Switch is looking for a Maintenance Officer to join the Refugee, Resettlement and Migration team, reporting to the Property Preparation Officer.
Working arrangements: The role is mainly out and about in a van, with an additional person, 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks associated with property preparation, including building furniture, transporting furniture, painting, decorating, maintaining exterior gardens, and repairing household items.
- Work directly with the Property Preparation Officer to ensure resettled families from conflict‑affected countries have adequate accommodation and housing needs.
- Engage in ongoing physical effort and manage environmental demands on the job holder.
- Travel to locations across the whole of West Sussex (a vehicle will be provided).
- Communicate in English with members of the public on a regular and intrinsic basis.
Qualifications
- Practical facilities and building knowledge.
- Good customer‑service skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within West Sussex.
- Strong English communication skills.
