Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is well known for its established property investment portfolio, currently valued at £283.9M. The portfolio, which provides an annual income of £19.2M, consists of over 200 properties across key developments in Basing View and The Malls, as well as industrial, retail, offices, and leisure assets. We are seeking an Interim Asset Management Surveyor to join our Investment Team. The role consists of hands-on estate management and will play a key role in delivering the priorities of the council’s Annual Property Plan.
Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day investment portfolio duties for commercial assets (directly let properties and some ground-leased properties).
- Conduct rent reviews, negotiate new lettings, renew leases and handle all landlord and tenant matters, including processing applications for landlord consent, surrenders and dilapidations.
- Manage estate of multi-let properties: service charges, budgeting, oversee Letting Agents, monitor debt and manage income.
- Provide input into Project Groups concerning portfolio management or on behalf of the Property Team.
- Undertake valuations as required.
Qualifications
- RICS qualified with experience in a commercial property environment.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of commercial leases.
- Possession of a full driving licence and preferably own transport for role duties.
